5. No Discrimination Against Persons or Groups

The license must not discriminate against any person or group of persons.

This is from “The Open Source Definition” – Open source initiative website .

Thats all what I wanted to say, thank you.

It have been on since like for ever, VI vs Emacs, Windows vs. Mac, IE vs Netscape, then IE vs. Firefox,  all the way to the day of iphone vs. android and twitter vs. facebook, well guess what? they all suck …

Software wars are there since too many years, but why? why can’t softwares live together happily? well… apparently geeks like to religious about the software they use, and thats why we see linuxHeads and macHeads and PCerrr… well i don’t know what they call PC people, maybe just PCs (:

So, which is better? the answer is none, there is no such thing as perfect software, or perfect computer system in general, why? because it is created by humans whom are not-perfect creatures.

With each software comes the good part and the bad part, it all depends on the angle you are looking from, if you took operating systems for example: Windows has its good side which mostly that it runs on most (if not all) common hardware, but it is a full package, with windows comes non-sense errors,BSODs and malware, apple mackintosh on the other hand have a great user experience, great looking designs but apple comes with its high-price and if you try to install the OS on other hardware thats gonna be a nightmare most of the times, what about linux? it is open-source, it works on any hardware and totally customizable, well ya but linux comes with its pain, even though its installation have become really easy on most recent distributions and there is more focus on the normal user and the graphical interface, still an unknowing user,an awkward hardware or some unknown reason can turn a linux box into a hell.

so, what the hell should we do? well… do whatever that works, mix and don’t be religious. if linux can work on my machine it is gonna be great, but if it is gonna keep crashing and distract me from getting my work done i could install windows on it, or get another machine that works better with linux, the idea is unless you pray to a computer don’t be religious about it, and like one wise man once said “There is no good software, there is just software that sucks less”

Twitter added support for the “retweet”, but most users did not like the new feature, they felt it is confusing and annoying, now the biggest problem rises in “twitter clients” some of them support and some don’t, anyway this is not what i want to talk about, what i want to talk about here is: how to get all the retweets – the old ones and new ones – in one place
well thats an easy task, just search for you username and save that search, example: i have a saved search for @w43L

sheers

If you use twitter in Syria you may have noticed that the “integrated search” (you know the one on the sidebar under the retweets word) does not work, it does not give you an error, just a dull response, nothing happens …
well here is how to enable it:

-what you are going to need is:

1. firefox

2. foxy proxy addon

3. an IP & port of a proxy server (which definitely you have :) )

-here is what you have to do:

1. install foxy proxy firefox extension (if not already installed)

2. press ctrl+f2 which will bring foxyproxy options dialog

3. click the add new proxy button and enter the proxy ip and port

4. there is a tab called URL patterns , click on it and click on add new pattern

5. add a new pattern with the name you like and his URL pattern *integratedsearch.twitter.com/*

6. save everything and try to search on the twitter page

for any problems contact me @w43L, salam
